ABOUT US
Nice to Meet You – I’m Maria!
I became a licensed family child care provider in January 2019, but my love for early childhood started long before that. When my youngest headed off to kindergarten, I got licensed and opened my doors, and Maria's Little Learners was born. I've since completed early childhood courses through Normandale Community College, earned my CPR and first aid certifications, and completed Parent Aware quality rating training.
I believe young children learn best when they feel safe and free to explore. My home has a daily routine that gives kids the predictability they need, with genuine focus on building confidence, curiosity, and kindness. I keep my group small — never more than six children. I'm also fluent in English and Spanish, so families more comfortable in Spanish are warmly welcome.
As a mom of a nine-year-old and a twelve-year-old, I know exactly what it feels like to hand your child to someone else and hope they're in good hands. That feeling is why I take this work so seriously. I'd love the chance to earn your trust.
A Day in My Care
Every morning starts with a warm welcome. After arrivals, we ease into the day with free play, circle time, and a hands-on activity. I weave Spanish words and songs throughout our morning, and we read together at least two or three times a day.
Mid-morning brings snack time, then we head outside whenever the weather cooperates — my fenced backyard has a play structure, a sandbox, and a small garden. After lunch comes our quiet rest period from 12:30 to 2:00, with a predictable rhythm that most children settle into quickly. Pickup runs from 3:00 to 5:30, and I always give parents a quick update at the door so you know how your child's day went. If this sounds like a good fit, I'd love to hear from you.

Rates and Availability
I believe families deserve straightforward, honest information when they're making such an important decision, so here's everything you need to know about my rates and how my program works.
Weekly Tuition
Tuition is billed weekly and due each Monday. Monthly billing is available on request.
Toddlers (18 months – 2 years): $280 per week
Preschool (3 – 5 years): $250 per week
I do not provide infant care. I welcome children starting at 18 months of age.

Holidays and Time Off
I follow the Bloomington Public Schools calendar for holidays and days off, so you'll always know well in advance when I'm closed. A full calendar is provided to every family at the start of each year.
Vacation and Sick Day Policy
For planned vacations, a 50 percent holding fee applies with at least two weeks' notice. Each child receives up to five sick days per year at no charge — after that, the regular weekly rate applies.
Current Availability
I currently have one preschool opening available as of spring 2026. I am also building a waitlist for toddler spots expected to open in fall 2026. Spots fill quickly, and waitlist families are always my first call when an opening comes up.
Let's Get Started
Taking that first step is easy. Fill out my short inquiry form, and I'll follow up within one to two business days. If it feels like a good fit, we'll schedule a time to meet in person so you can see the space and ask any questions you have. I'd love to connect with your family.
